A Week in the Life
.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.
I finally updated my blog's look. It's not 100% what I wanted, but the basic ideas are there. (Armadillo and sunflowers.) My computer drawing skills are very rusty and it will take some practice for me to get them up to where I can do exactly what I want. Until then, I am grateful for royalty free stock and photos. (Credits)
Unfortunately the new look doesn't work on mobile. It doesn't look terrible, but it doesn't look right. This is definitely going to require some practice.

Oh, hey, it's Easter.
Is it weird that I didn't even realize when Easter was until last week?
I've been slacking.
We colored some eggs.
Behold, eggs.
And.... did some Easter Baskets. (+ two non-baskets for the adults)
That worm is mine. Those are some real OG TY Beanie Babies, btw. Tags and all.
For any new comers, my daughter (age 11) has Type 1 Diabetes.
Three years out and it's still a little tricky trying to find a balance of being sparing with candy and still have it be a treat.
I attempted to make deviled eggs for the first time. It did not turn out so well. I struggled to peel the eggs so they were ugly and I ended up over salting the yolks. 😰 I hate wasting food. The husband likes salt more than I do, so we shall see.

It was an exciting week for TV!
Largely because the return of Roseanne. I was so excited I redownloaded the Contour app to watch it live. (I never watch anything live, so this was huge.)
It really does feel like we never left. Now I have to go binge the original to get my fix.
Santa Clarita Diet! I have been waiting for this since I binged the first season during the 2017 superbowl. Definitely enjoyed it. I do think it got a bit weirder, but it's drastically less gory than season 1.
What I haven't seen this week is A Series of Unfortunate Events! I have to hold off on this one since we watch it as a family. Luckily, it's Spring Break at our house and the husband finally doesn't have to work such long hours for the moment. We should be watching it slowly over the course of the week. :)
Alex, Inc also came out. I'm unsure about how I feel about it. It's definitely charming, but I feel like it's not all there. It's a bit too early to call, but I'll be watching.
I also checked out Splitting Up Together. I don't have a lot of feelings one way or the other towards this one. It wasn't bad, but it's a sitcom and it wasn't funny. I do like the idea of the show. I come from a mended & blended family that gets along, so it's nice to see this being portrayed on TV.

I have seen the trailer for Santa Clarita Diet, my husband won’t watch it, so I’ll have to give it a try while he’s at work. Lol... Hope you and your family have a Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteI really like it. It's cute and silly, but the first season is extremely gory. I actually don't mind it, but it did put a lot of people off.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Happy Easter! And yay for Sunday Post #1 :)
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing raves about Santa Clarita Diet, but haven't watched it yet. It does sound kinda gory but fun?
My exact description after watching it was "cute but gory".
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I like the look of your blog. My blog wouldn’t exist without free stock images and a lot of tutorials that teach me how to do stuff. Happy Easter! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks!
DeleteI need to study up and practice with tutorials again.
Thanks for stopping by!
I adored both seasons of Santa Clarita Diet and hope it's renewed for a third season. It is kind of out there but hey, I like odd :)
ReplyDeleteI love it. I don't know many people who watch it, but it was clearly popular enough to get a second season! I keep trying to convert more people and have not been very successful at it. :(
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I watched an ep of Alex, Inc as well and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I may watch episode 2.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was pretty cute, but the pieces aren't quite all there yet.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I really want to see A Series of Unfortunate Events. I tried to get my kids to watch it with me, but they weren't interested. Guess I'll have to check it out by myself!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
It's definitely worth it! Hey, if you start watching it, they may even just join in with you.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Congrats on your first Sunday post and I am sure you will love it enough to continue. And if you need any help with your blog's looks, let me know I can try and help.
ReplyDeleteGayathri @ Elgee Writes
Thanks!
DeleteI will keep that in mind. It's a bit of a mental struggle for me because I used to be very into (amateur) web and graphic design about 10+ years ago.
Thanks for stopping by!
I kind of dropped the ball on Easter too. There was definitely some last minute panic but luckily it all came together in the end. Thankfully I only have to put together one basket. I imagine that is quite the balance with diabetes. Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteNormally I plan it out a bit better. It wasn't terribly expensive, but if I had been ahead of things, it would have cost even less.
DeleteHappy Easter! Those are magnificent eggs!! I do like your armadillo! It gives your blog a retro vibe which I love. <3
ReplyDeleteThanks! The kids had a lot of fun making them.
DeleteI collect armadillos, so it was an obvious choice for me.
Hi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my place. We kind of had Easter planned...but around here that's ify. Plans tend to go the wrong way. Hope you had a nice Easter and have a great day!
Things were pretty low key. We did our morning stuff and then I had to go to work and the husband took the kids to his sister's.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
*Shannon ;)
Welcome to Sunday Post :) I changed my blog so many times over the years, I think I finally have what I like. It's always fun to change up your design and hopefully you'll get the hang of your graphic design skills back.
ReplyDeleteI need to watch Santa Clarita Diet, I've heard it was really good.
Have a wonderful day.
I will probably want to change it eventually. I was a little "not satisfied" with it at first, but now it's been a week or two and I'm loving it.
DeleteI have to always remind myself that sometimes "good enough" is good enough!
Thanks for stopping by!
