Book Blogger Hop: Halloween Edition!

Recommend one horror novel for non-horror readers.

It's been a little bit since I've read this one. I recall it being a little scary, but it was more along the thriller lines.
I know I have said this before, but ...
If you've seen the movie The Quiet Place, it's like that, but with sight instead of sound. Similar levels of tenseness. For the record: THE BOOK CAME OUT FIRST. I'm seeing a lot of stuff on twitter accusing the Bird Box movie (out in December on Netflix) of copying The Quiet Place. This one predates it by 4 years.

Honorable Mention:

I like to describe this as a thriller for people who don't like thrillers. It is VERY tense and "thrilling", but it's not gory or anything like that.
