Life
.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.My husband took our son to the store and he is no longer being Bowser. He is Mario. This is a relief because the more I researched, I knew Bowser was a no go for this year.
The network adapter on my laptop stopped working.... again. So now I'm stuck using it downstairs with an ethernet cable. :(
The overdrive feature on my kobo randomly started working again. (Yay)
My phone fell on the ground for something like the 10th time and the screen actually cracked. Going to get it fixed today.
.... and buy a case for it. ^^;

The State of the Blog
.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.Fraterfest 2018 has started!
Unfortunately, it got off to a rocky start since Tropical Storm Michael blew through on Thursday. (It wasn't the *whole* day, but I had not reading related things to do prior to that and then I spent the evening keeping watch for tornadoes.)
On top of that, it is a busy weekend, but I did finish one book so far!
Added a "Throwback Thursday" feature on my blog. I've been wanting to do for a while.
Basically, I read and comment on a book that I've already read (or might have read) "back in the day".

Good luck with FraterFest! And Throwback Thursday sounds like a great idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying, but I did finish one book - so that's something!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I agree, Mario is much easier to deal with than Bowser!
ReplyDeleteI'd legit cry if the wifi doogit in my laptop stopped working and I had to sit with a cable at the desk. :( At least your phone is easy to repair!
We just bought the Mario costume. I wouldn't mind making the Bowser costume, but there are no patterns for the head and that could take longer than expected. Maybe next year.
DeleteI want to cry about it. I wouldn't mind it so much, except that I like doing my blogging in my room and ... well, I don't have a cord that long NOR do I want a cord wrapping around my entire house. :(
It has done this before and then "magically" started working so... who knows.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi there! WHat a week you've had. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like living with tornadoes. We had some pretty bad storms recently and one long powercut on Friday, but that's about it. Frustrating even so!
ReplyDeleteGood news about your Kobo, and yes, at least you had a little more time to unwind, relax and read x
Here's my Sunday Wrap Up Post. Hope you can drop by!
I actually grew up in "Tornado Alley" so this was nothing really. We didn't even get any tornadoes! (That is not a complaint, just a statement.) It more just reinforced that we need to get an antennae so I can turn the TV on to the news for next time rather than attempting to check manually on my phone.
DeleteNext week should be better time wise. :) Weekends tend to be more hectic for me.
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, I always worry when my devices start having issues...especially when there is no reason I can identify. Then they seemingly "fix" themselves, but you know that the problem will recur. It is inevitable. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
True. I'm crossing my fingers this time. I'm just glad it's fixed because being able to have my library books auto-delivered to the ereader is so much more convenient that side loading.
DeleteI'm not opposed to side loading, but for the library books, it puts them in their own category and tells you when they are going to disappear - which the side loaded library books don't!
That's too bad to hear about the phone and about having a hard time finding time to read. I hope next week is better!
ReplyDeleteEvelina @ AvalinahsBooks
I wasn't able to get it fixed today, but it's no big deal in the long run. I'm going to order a case for it today so this shouldn't happen again.
DeleteUnfortunately, this month has just happened to have some very busy weekends. I should be able to get back to it once they go back to school tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by.
Mario is for sure an easier costume to make. Plus the bowser they sell isn't as cool as mario! :)
ReplyDeleteMy fraterfest is very slow going, I am hoping to be finished with my book today to start the next one.
I hope you have a great week, Shannon! Happy Reading!
We just bought the Mario costume, but the store bought Bowser ones all have really bad reviews or are just too expensive for a kid's costume!
DeleteGood luck on the readathon. I'm doing okay with it, but not quite as far along as I had hoped!
Good luck with Fraterfest. I’m doing that readathon, too. I’ve already finished 1 book, and I’m hoping to finish another. Have a great week! I hope there are no more issues with your electronics!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Weirdest thing, after troubleshooting the network adapter something like 20 times over the past couple of days... I tried again today and now it works?! I don't even know. I'm not complaining, but what is going on?!
DeleteBest of luck in the readathon!
My son who's 3 has just begun the Supermario Bros obsession as he got a Mario and Luigi from McDonalds.
ReplyDeleteGlad you and your family are safe, must he quite scary.
Angelica @ Paperback Princess
That was a cute set. My son was already obsessed with Mario so he was very excited for those ones.
DeleteLuckily it turned out to be mostly nothing. A lot of wind, but no tornadoes. We didn't even lose power.
Ah Mario.. Sounds like a great costume! We don't celebrate Halloween where I life but it always sounds like we're missing out here in The Netherlands. ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
Really? I thought it was. We were stationed there when I was 4 and I know we definitely did Halloween there. Maybe that was just on the (American) base.
DeleteHonestly, it's mostly just dressing up and getting candy. It is one of my favorite holidays. *^-^*
