Life

.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.

No updates. My house is still filled with boxes. I think they just live where they are now.
(Okay, not really. My goal has been to do at least one box a day so they have been receding, but there is just a lot of boxes.)

I'm looking for book suggestions to read on a camping trip.
Keep in mind, I have a thing about being outside and would like to NOT read stories about people being cut from their tents and murdered.
Doesn't have to be camping specific, but just curious if anyone has a preference (other than horror/ghost stories) as a recommendation.
(Also, I hate camping.)

Currently debating on buying my son's Halloween costume. He really wants to be Bowser, but all the store bought ones look bad. However, given that I'm still trying to move and get things settled, I don't think I have time to attempt to make the costume from scratch. (Considering I can't find a "Bowser" pattern. The main concern is the mask really. The rest would just be a bodysuit with a shell back pack.)
My daughter is going as a Dementor from Harry Potter. We ended up buying her cloak from a store because it looked right (it was actually a Ghost face costume) and I'll be making a Dementor mask.

I'm undecided if I and/or the husband will dress up, largely because I just am not feeling up to it. I love Halloween, but I should have been planning this over the summer. :(
(Okay, some a lot of this is body issues. Bleh)

On another note, I REALLY want to see A Star is Born. It looks so good and I love Gaga.

Watching (Spotlight)

.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.~*.*~.

I don't love it, but I don't dislike it.
It's certainly more watchable than The Simpsons has been over the last decade.
It has the potential to be really good, but they just didn't quite get there.

  1. I'm not a big fan of camping either... :) Hope it goes well. Yeah scary books about camping are probably not the best choice. That made me laugh!

A Star is Born does sound good.

    1. I watch way too much true crime to enjoy camping. I only mentioned that because I asked somewhere else and everyone was like "Horror!". Yeah, I'm going to pass on that.

I love Gaga. I haven't seen any of the other versions, so I'm a little skeptical because I feel I should see those too!
      Thanks for stopping by. :)

  2. I loved camping when I was a kid, but nowadays, I prefer luxurious indoor places to vacation...LOL.

I loved the last A Star Is Born, with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, but I've heard that the newest one is really excellent.

Enjoy unpacking those boxes...and thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. Camping, I just... gah. I didn't even like it as a kid. My husband is the one who has been pushing it for two years and finally he just won out. (Because the kids had separate camping events.) I wouldn't mind glamping, but in a tent. Bleh. Hopefully, it won't be the worst.

I feel I should watch the previous A Star is Borns or something. I love older movies and somehow I have not seen any of them. (I've seen pieces of the original Judy one, but in a documentary.)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I can't wait to see A Star is Born too. It looks so good!
Good luck with the camping. That's definitely not my sort of thing either.
Have a great week and happy reading!

    1. It really does!

Camping isn't happening for a few weeks (thankfully), was just hoping to stock up on some titles before then.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I hope you do enjoy the camping trip--even if you don't like camping. My dad loved camping and we would go every summer when I was growing up. I loved the days--reading to my heart's content and enjoying nature. I hated the nights, sleeping on the hard ground (no matter how we tried to remove all the little rocks under the tent--it never happened completely). And the bugs. My idea of camping now is a nice cabin equipped with plumbing. Your kids' costumes sound great. Mine is going as a witch this year. I hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. I've never camped a lot, but have done enough to know that I don't enjoy most of it. My husband and I are actually using an air mattress since we will have some access to electricity. He admitted that he doesn't think his back can handle sleeping on the ground... even though he's the one pushing for camping.

I hope the costumes turn out okay. My son's worries me. Usually you can find an okay store bought version of things if you have to, but the Bowser ones look awful. :(
